Conceptual Pier Development
Working with our confidential client and nonprofit community sailing organization, Studio Troika embarked on a large scale architectural and planning effort to revitalize Charlestown’s Pier 4. The project will create a new flagship building that includes boat building and maintenance, boat rental facilities, offices, conference rooms, and a lecture and reception hall available to the general public. The building serves as a beacon to the city for our confidential client and the Charlestown Navy Yard.
BUILDING FOR A CAUSE
The project includes redesigning Pier 4 to increase public participation, allow for access to the water, and enhance year round program activities. Elements include seating and viewing, play areas for children and adults, protected swimming areas, elevated pier infrastructure for rising sea level, accessible roof deck, and sustainable energy initiatives.
